We grew up in a country where people have a special affection for television. And this point seems legit when we see our mother curiously waiting for the daily soaps to get broadcast. Boys always kept a well-maintained distance from those TV soaps where a vamp always keep bitching about everything she comes across.
Well, it took time but somehow we managed to change our content consuming habits. And big thanks to platforms like TVF, AIB, Scoopwhoop, to enlighten and introduce us with Web series. Yes, I’m talking about India web series.
We all know what YouTube can do; it’s our only source of entertainment when comes to viral videos. Video-on-demand is now a trend and we Indians are accepting it wholeheartedly.
India’s perception have changed, we youth don’t serve around conservative taste and censors. Web series are more realistic and fictitious way to dive into the world of entertainment. Face, learn, explore, challenge, and enjoy, this is what I’ve learned after my first introduction to them.

That’s what we are talking about. A series of connected videos is what we call web series. You can always watch the latest stuff on their youtube channel or in App if they have one
1. The pitchers (TVF)
Pitchers by TVF – One of those series which have changed a mindset of many people including me. Launched last year in 2015, this is the only Indian series rated highly on IMDB . The Story revolves around four friends (Naveen Bansal, Jitendra Maheswari, Sourav Mandal, and Yogi) who are tired of their corporate life and wants to break the stereotype thinking of 10-5 cubical job. In actual Web series, we Viewers don’t even know what their idea was; all suspense I guess unfolds in the upcoming season 2 (waiting for it badly).
If you ever heard of ‘TU KYA HAI ’-“TU BEER HAI BHENC**D”, then you know what I am talking about. A great web series to inspire and motivate oneself.
2. Permanent Roommates
This is love fiction created by TVF. The story is about Mikesh and Taniya, who were in a long distance relationship, finally takes a bold step to move in together. The first season is all about ups and down in their relationships and how they manage to convince each own selves about marriage. The senses of humor of Mikesh, the stupidity of Prushottam, and dudeness of LEO is what make this series a good drama.
3. Bang Baja Baraat
Well, when two people meet on tinder what could you expect ? Pawan and Sahaana, both from different background decide to get married after falling in love. But, what more can you ask for when their parents are meeting for the first time, just 3 days before the marriage ceremony. When Brahmin and Punjabi family meet all hell broke loose. Do watch it one of my personal favorites.
4. Life Sahi hai
Do you remember ‘Pyaar ka Punchnama’ by Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg? They both came up with this Web Series which is named as “Life Sahi h“. YouTube series based on the lives of four educated, independent, employed young men living in what seems to be a metro city.
Web series revolves around four friends who moved to Delhi to live independently. They always land in the uncomfortable and hilarious situation with maids, bosses, girlfriends. But as the title suggest they always follow; LIFE SAHI H Boss.
5. Baked
Meet the boys who started Midnight Delivery service. There are 7 episodes with 22 min each, having the full dose of entertainment. One of the best Indian web series which hit the internet space. Mohammad Haris is a new college going guy in Delhi who shares the room with ONI and BODY. They eventually come up with the idea to start a midnight food delivery service.

6. Shaddi boys
An exclusive series created under the banner Voot Originals. A story of three boys with girls, drama and booze. Meet Neil, Nitin, Mukesh. Wait, not the Bollywood actor but 3 different guys. You can say it’s a Bollywood twist. After watching the trailer and 4 episodes on Voot, all three Neil, Nitin and Mukesh they come together to showcase their talent and make money out of Big Fat Indian weddings. 7. Chinese Bhasad
A comedy series in India which focus mainly on “Chinese maal kaha chlta h jada”. A boy fall in love with a Chinese girl and then series take a twist with a family drama. Colonel Bharadwaj hates everything made in China. What to tell, there’s no other way of putting it except – ‘Bhasad mach jati hai’ when Chinese and Indian family meet for the marriage ceremony.
8. A-I-SHA- My Virtual Girlfriend
Raghu Ram of MTV ROADIES, started his first web series. This series purely falls in Sci-fi and thriller genre. In A-I-SHA you will find the story of a relationship between a man and an Artificial Intelligence Simulated Humanoid Assistant (A.I.SHA), a woman. Techy kind of love right! New concept and this is gaining huge popularity. Must watch series
9. Ladies Room
Ladies room, a place where women talk about anything to everything. Do they mean more than what they’re saying? Wait what you are thinking? It’s different – Ladies Room is the web series based on two best besties. These girls are mad, bad, and completely unapologetic about their madness! Just imagine and come up with your own story before watching it.
